All
the dive sites in Jordan are located very close to the shore line
so both boat and shore diving access the same sites, it is just
a matter of which mode of transport is preferred. The diving along
this coast line is very good relative to other diving in the Northern
Red Sea. It is an excellent choice for both beginners and the more
experienced diver. There is some especially exciting diving close
to the Saudi border where you will find deep walls only very recently
discovered! There is also one of the best wreck dives in the Red
Sea here, the 'Cedar Pride' - this is an astonishing dive!!

Based
at the Alcazar Hotel together they offer an ideal holiday combination,
a 'diver friendly' hotel, a private beach club and escorted shore
diving. A full range of PADI training courses is offered for both
beginners and experienced divers wishing to advance their diving
skills. All instructors are professionally qualified with PADI and/or
BSAC. Two dives a day is the norm, with night dives arranged several
times a week. Divers leave from the hotel each morning and can return
for lunch between dives or stay down on the reef edge at the beach
club, Club Murjan. Sailing and windsurfing are also available. Seastar
currently dive more than 20 different and varied sites to suit all
levels of experience. All sites start virtually at the waters edge
and are easily accessed from the shore. A fast road connects the
access points to the dive sites and even the most distant sites
near the Saudi border can be reached within 20 minutes

A
unique diving facility opened in 1990 and is Jordan's only BSAC
Premier School. It is an excellent training facility in a perfect
situation at the water's edge with a home reef area on its threshold!
The Royal Diving Centre is a purpose built complex with a private
jetty, compressor room, equipment storage, lecture rooms, café,
and large swimming pool with sunbathing area. You will be collected
from your hotel each morning by the dive centre transport.
As
well as the home reef area immediately in front of the Royal Diving
Centre, there is an extensive and prolific reef stretching along
the coastline on either side. Dive sites can be accessed by boat
or from the shore. The Royal Diving Centre has always specialised
in BSAC training but PADI courses are also available with the centre's
permanent professional instructors. This is an independent dive
centre not affiliated to any particular hotel although they work
closely with the Golden Tulip to provide a great value diver / hotel
package.
